DR. THOMAS!!!! DO NOT LET THIS WOMAN OR THIS PLACE TOUCH YOU!!!! I WENT TO THEM AFTER MY RELEASE FROM THE HOSPITAL AND WAS TOLD TO COME BACK A 2 WEEKS LATER TO GIVE HER A CHANCE TO SEE WHAT LABS SHE SHOULD RUN BY RESEARCHING AND I WAS GIVEN THE DEXCOM. REASSURED ME WE WOULD GET TO THE BOTTOM OF WHAT WAS GOING ON! WHEN I WENT BACK THEY HAD ME TO BE SEEN FOR THE WRONG THING AND SHE COULD NOT EVEN REMEMBER WHAT WE HAD DISCUSSED OR THAT I HAD THE DEXCOM. SHE THEN BROUGHT ANOTHER WOMAN IN AND THEY SAID THEY WERE FINALLY SENDING IN LABS AND A Referral TO ASHEVILLE ENDO. SHE WAS UPSET THAT I HAVE SEEN GYNECOLOGIST. LIKE SHOULDNT SPECIALIST AND PRIMARY WORK TOGETHER? NOW ITS BEEN ANOTHER WEEK, NO REFERRAL, NO LABS AND IM GETTING WORSE. I CALLED AND LEFT A MESSAGE AND HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK. ENDO EVEN CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT SEE WHERE I WAS BEING RECERRED!!!! 7 WEEKS SINCE IVE BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL . I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BOARD AND ALSO RALEIGH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS. MY LIFE IS IMPORTANT AND YOU ARE DISREGARDING THAT!!! MAHEC DELIVERED 4 OF MY CHILDREN AND ITS DISGUSTING TO SEE WHAT THIS PLACE HAS BECOME. SHAME ON YOU !!! I have a broken leg and I had a doctors appointment to have my leg looked at. I was 12 minutes late because I have a broken leg and it’s really hard for me to get around sometimes. It took me a good 6 minutes to get into the office once I parked because of how far away I had to park and being on crutches. They told me they wouldn’t see me because I was 12 minutes late. The medical industry here in Asheville is a joke.

All of the reviews that are complaining about wait times are absolutely true. The practice mandates that you show up 20 minutes before your appointment. Today, I showed up at 3:20 for a 3:40 appointment - the goal was to have a doctor examine my bicep (which was already examined by my PCP…I just need a referral to PT) and get me to the lab for a separate annual blood biomarker draw. I was told this would be no problem. I was skeptical because each of my prior appointments took over an hour, with maybe 5-10 minutes of actual time with the doctor. It is now currently 4:20 and I still have yet to be seen by the doctor and the labs will be closed by the time I get out of here. They are rigid about appointment times, but they show that they couldn’t care any less about your time. I will be going through the arduous process of trying to find a different practice because this isn’t good enough.

This place has really been going down hill over the years. When I first went there many years ago it was good, I liked my doctor so much that I recommended her to my mom who hates doctor visits. I still like the OB/GYN office and should leave them a good review soon. But recently, I have absolutely hated the doctors at the family health. Some of the nurses are incompetent too and the doctors have been very unhelpful lately with my son's sickness. One doctor put me on a new type of drug without discussing it with me first and I didn't find out until I got home with the different prescription and opened the bottle and was like "what is this?" Another one canceled on me for no reason and when they tried to call me to reschedule it was of course during that one week when my mailbox was full. Great support staff thanks for doing your job even if the doctors aren't!

I have, and continue to have, very positive experiences with MAHEC primary care in Asheville, for both myself and my infant daughter. We have seen several providers and they have all been great experiences. Registration staff are always pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable. The medical assistants are competent and friendly, and the providers are personable, timely, and make you feel heard!
